Young Bucks Tease Signing With A Major Promotion

Matt Jackson, one half of the Young Bucks tag team, teased on Twitter last night that he and his brother Nick Jackson have finally signed with a major wrestling promotion.

Matt tweeted out the cryptic tweet seen below.

Then mere seconds later he added the following further tweet.

Nick, the younger of the two brothers, posted this less cryptic tweet before Matt’s, starting the speculation.

Matt and Nick are one of the hottest “free agent” tag teams in the world right now. The Young Bucks are are three time IWGP junior tag team champions, four-time PWG champions, former Ring of Honor tag team champions, and have won championships in every relevant independent promotion in North America, including Dragon Gate USA.

In a possible tell tale tweet, Matt posted the following picture on his twitter account a few short hours ago, of The Bucks wearing Balor Club t-shirts, in a possible indication of where they have signed.

With Alberto Del Rio/Patron signing with WWE this past weekend, Lucha Underground now has a sizable chunk of their budget left to sign talent. Could the Bucks be headed to Mexico? Or as the above photo teases, could they be headed for a reunion with their Bullet Club leader and close friend Finn Balor (Prince Devitt)?

A story on PWInsider notes that it probably isn’t WWE, but until it’s official you never really know.

Ski’s Take – Well this has come out of left field. For all intents and purposes, it looked like Matt and Nick were doing well both personally and financially on the independent scene. The one time they did sign with a major promotion (TNA 2009-2011), it left them with a bitter taste in their mouths and nearly quit the industry altogether.

I’m being selfish here, and I’m hoping that they have signed with NXT. They are seasoned professionals, traveled the world and wrestled in every style imaginable, and could really help the tag team division in NXT. The resounding success of the Dusty Rhodes Classic Invitational has put tag team wrestling back on the scene and the Bucks could add something special to the mix.

Then after a few months they could get called up to the main roster and have countless feuds and matches with The Dudleys, The New Day, PTP, The Usos……..But I have a feeling that they won’t have signed with WWE. Just a few months ago, WWE tried to get the Bucks to stop using the Too Sweet hand gesture, and with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Micheals using the Sweet Chin Music superkick as his finisher, you can guarantee that they’ll ask the brothers to limit the amount of superkick’s per match, as they do like to use a superkick once or 15 times per match.

All in all, some people around the world will be doing some armchair booking right now with this news, and as you can see, I’m one of them! What do you guys and gals think about this news? Any idea where they have signed? Let me know in the comment box and lets see who has bragging rights for getting it right!
