World Wrestling Entertainment announced on Friday that Stephanie McMahon, the on-screen Commissioner of Raw, will be making a “historic announcement.”

There’s no word yet on what the announcement is, but my gut feeling (and that’s all it is at this point) is that it might be the women’s only pay-per-view event. We covered that story last week about reports that WWE was thinking about a women’s only PPV after WWE moved TLC from October to December and eliminated Clash of Champions from the schedule. There is no US PPV in the month of October, but there is the Australian Super-Showdown event in early October.
Another reason why I believe it’s the women’s only PPV is that they want Stephanie to make that announcement just like she made the announcement of the first ever women’s Royal Rumble. WWE has made a concerted effort to make Stephanie the public face of the company especially when it comes to news regarding their women’s wrestlers.
I’ll update this post if I learn more about it, but for now, my feeling is it’s about a women’s only PPV event.
