WWE News: Matches Added to Super Show-Down on Oct. 6 Including The Shield In Action, Change to John Cena’s Match

There were more matches announced for WWE’s Super-Showdown event in Melbourne, Australia on October 6.

The first match announced for the show was Triple H vs. The Undertaker in a “Last Time Ever” match. This week on Raw, Triple H did a promo talking about the match and how he was reluctant to say yes at first, but then he was willing to do it for the fans in Australia.

Another match that WWE announced was John Cena vs. Kevin Owens, but for some reason, WWE has changed the match. It is now Cena and Bobby Lashley against the team of Owens and Elias. I don’t know why it changed, but maybe it has something to do with Cena not wrestling since Greatest Royal Rumble in late April, so maybe they felt a tag team match would be smarter for his first match in over five months. As you can see in the video above, Cena has transformed his body to become slimmer and his veins are popping out more than ever. Settle down, Vince McMahon.

There’s also going to be a match with The Shield in a six man tag. We don’t know who the opponents are yet, but here’s what it says on about it:

The Hounds of Justice will be unleashed at WWE Super Show-Down. United and stronger than ever, The Shield are set to make their way into Melbourne, Australia on Saturday, Oct. 6.

It was almost six years ago when Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose disrupted the WWE Universe with their game-changing debut before going on to become one of the most dominant factions in WWE history. Picking up from where they left off last year, they look to be stronger than ever. Though it is not known just who the destructive trio may face, when The Hounds of Justice enter the Melbourne Cricket Ground, all-out bedlam won’t be far behind no matter who is standing across the ring.

The brothers-in-arms will be among the largest collection of WWE Superstars and Legends to ever appear in Australia, as WWE Super Show-Down takes place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Saturday, Oct. 6. Tickets for WWE Super Show-Down are available now via Further ticket information is available at Don’t miss the monumental event, streaming live on WWE Network and available on pay-per-view around the world!

The opponents could be Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin because a reader tweeted me earlier about how The Shield are advertised against those three heels at a live event on October 22, so perhaps that same match will happen a few weeks earlier.

Late last night, WWE also annoucned that The Miz will face Daniel Bryan in a match where the winner will get a WWE Championship match at a later date. In other words, it’s a number one contender’s match, so there’s a lot on the line.

Who wins? Hard to say right now. If AJ Styles is still the champion then either guy could win, but if it’s Samoa Joe as WWE Champion then I would pick Daniel Bryan in that match. Let’s see how things take place at Hell in a Cell first.

To sum it all up, here’s what we know for the Super Show-down event so far:

The Undertaker vs. Triple H

John Cena and Bobby Lashley vs. Kevin Owens and Elias

The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan for a future WWE Title match

The Shield vs. three opponents to be named later.

That’s all for now. More matches will be announced in the days and weeks ahead.
