WWE Hall of Fame News: Big Show to Induct Mark Henry

It was announced on Monday that Big Show will induct Mark Henry in the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame, which takes place this Friday night in New Orleans and will air on WWE Network at 8pm ET/5pm PT.

Big Show commented on the honor in a post announcing the news: “I’ve spent a lot of time going up and down the road with Mark Henry. I’ve had battles with him, and I know what kind of a human being and community leader he is. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of the WWE Hall of Fame. It is my honor to induct my friend.”

Here’s more from about it:

It is a titanic task to induct The World’s Strongest Man into the WWE Hall of Fame. So, who better to handle the duties than The World’s Largest Athlete? Big Show will have the honor of welcoming Mark Henry into the WWE Hall of Fame during the 2018 Induction Ceremony this Friday, April 6, streaming live on WWE Network at 8 ET/5 PT.

The two titans have engaged in numerous battles over the years, including an epic rivalry over the World Heavyweight Championship in 2011. Outside the ring, the two veterans have become close friends. Their strong bond makes Big Show the perfect man for the task of inducting Henry.

Here’s the updated list of inductors at the Hall of Fame.

Bill Goldberg will be inducted by Paul Heyman

The Dudley Boyz will be inducted by Edge and Christian

Ivory will be inducted by Molly Holly

Jeff Jarrett will be inducted by Road Dogg

Hillbilly Jim will be inducted by Jimmy Hart

I assume Warrior Award winner Jarrius “JJ” Roberts will be inducted by Dana Warrior.

The only name that’s left is the celebrity inductee Kid Rock.

TJR Thoughts: Big Show makes a lot of sense for this spot because Henry’s been with WWE for over 20 years and next year will be 20 years for Show in WWE. Like Show said, they’ve been friends for a long time. They have some history as well because Mark Henry’s only World Title reign was ended by Big Show at the TLC 2011 pay-per-view. Moments after Show won the World Title, Daniel Bryan cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase to beat him for it, so it was a very short reign for Show.

Show is a good talker and a funny guy, so he should be able to put over his friend Mark Henry very well at the Hall of Fame.
