The next WWE pay-per-view event is SummerSlam on August 19 in Brooklyn, NY. The event will begin at 7pmET for the main card and will likely run four hours or more. Here’s the lineup so far.
Universal Championship: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns
WWE Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe
Raw Women’s Championship: Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Ronda Rousey
For the Money in the Bank Contract: Braun Strowman vs. Kevin Owens
Intercontinental Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Seth Rollins
Smackdown Women’s Championship: Carmella (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair
Cruiserweight Championship: Cedric Alexander (c) vs. Drew Gulak – I expect this to be a Kickoff Show match.
That’s it for official matches for now. Two more matches from the Smackdown side will be:
Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz – Bryan challenged Miz to a match on Smackdown this week, but Miz did not accept the match. It should become official by next week.
The Bludgeon Brothers will defend the Smackdown Tag Team Titles – The Bludgeon Brothers’ opponents will be The New Day or The Bar (Sheamus & Cesaro) because those teams will have a match next week on Smackdown to determine who gets the next title shot. That should be a win for The New Day.
Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy makes a lot of sense. I’m not sure where that leaves US Champion Shinsuke Nakamura because right now he doesn’t have a rivalry, but he has been involved with Orton in attacking Hardy. I would rather not see a triple threat match because they are already putting the Smackdown women a triple threat situation.
Based on what happened on Raw this week, I think there will be a Raw Tag Team TItle triple threat match with The B Team vs. The Revival vs. Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt.
Finn Balor vs. Baron Corbin one more time is a possibility too.
There could also be a mixed tag team match with Rusev teaming up with Lana against Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega.
There should be a total of 11 or 12 matches by the time the card is finalized after two more weeks of WWE television.
