Report: Torrie Wilson and Brutus Beefcake Expected to Be Inducted in 2019 WWE Hall of Fame

It’s WWE Hall of Fame season and there are a lot of rumors about who else may be a part of the 2019 class. The only confirmed names so far announced for the 2019 Hall of Fame are Degeneration X (Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, X-Pac and Chyna) and Honky Tonk Man.

Today, we found out two more names based on a report from the Twitter account @Wrestlevotes that has a proven track record as a reliable source for WWE news. Here’s what they reported today.

One of them is one of my favorite people in wrestling history and the other is named Brutus.

Congrats to Torrie and Brutus, who come from different eras, but both of them were a part of WWE for a long time.

Torrie started with WCW in late 1999 as a model, then was a manager there until the company died in March 2001 and she joined WWE in the summer of 2001 when WWE bought the company. Torrie was on the main roster for about seven years. She never held a title in WWE, but she was one of the most popular women in the history of the company. When it comes to WWE’s Hall of Fame, it’s not always about titles or being known as one of the better wrestlers. Tenure is important too.

As for Brutus, he was known as an interesting character in the late 1980s and early 1990s era of the WWF. He also went on to WCW and had a few different gimmicks.

Until WWE announces it then it’s not official, but I trust WrestleVotes, so congrats to Torrie and Brutus.

TJR Thoughts: I have known Torrie for about eight years and helped her at autograph signings. She’s an awesome person that is honestly one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She is a lot like she was during most of her WWE run as a smiling babyface that just wanted people to be happy. I always joked that she was like 50-2 in bikini contests on TV because I can remember a few times where they put others over, but she usually won them. I know people will say she wasn’t a great wrestler or whatever. That’s fine. I’m still happy for her.

I was never that much of a Brutus Beefcake fan because I thought his matches were boring and the barber persona was lame, but he was a big enough star in wrestling 30 years ago that it’s easy to see why he would be inducted.
