Omos Described How Kevin Nash Helped Him At WrestleMania

Omos is one of the biggest superstars in WWE history and now the former champion has revealed how a two-time WWE Hall of Famer helped him at this year’s WrestleMania 37 event.

Going into WrestleMania 37, Omos didn’t have a lot of experience in a wrestling ring in front of a crowd. He had competed at some small NXT live events in the last few years and also appeared on Raw as a bodyguard for the short-lived Raw Underground segments. His first match on the main roster was at WrestleMania.

The team of Omos and AJ Styles challenged The New Day’s Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston for the Raw Tag Team Titles. When Omos tagged in, he dominated both New Day members and the team of Omos & Styles easily won the titles to become Raw Tag Team Champions.

Omos was interviewed by Brandon Walker of the Rasslin’ podcast on Barstool Sports and Omos explained how Kevin Nash helped him out.

“For me, it was insane. I went to college in Tampa, I went to USF. Going back there, performing on the stage, the first time I came out, the first time the superstars came out, I was so overwhelmed with emotions that Kevin Nash saw me in the hallway and had to bring me down to earth. My emotions were so [motions upward] up here. Because I had never felt anything like that. When I got brought up, it was the ThunderDome, which was fine there. I got used to it. I didn’t know the experience of being on T.V. and doing live shows.”

“Once I got to Mania, that first audience interaction was insane. Then after going out with the New Day, Xavier Woods and Kofi [Kingston]. But going out there and having that match, and the way that match played out, and you know me, becoming champion on my debut. I just felt goosebumps on my back. And when I [went] out there, I felt the whole energy of the arena come down in there. It was almost like an out-of-body experience. I could see myself, and everything was so slow. It was magical.”

The team of Styles and Omos held the Raw Tag Team Titles for four months until losing the gold to Riddle and Randy Orton at SummerSlam over two weeks ago.
