Chris Jericho Calls Feud With MJF “One Of The Best” Of His Career

Chris Jericho put his career on the AEW All Out and now, following his victory, he’s reflecting on why battling MJF was one of the best feuds of his career. That says a lot considering Jericho has been a professional wrestler for over 30 years.

This past Sunday at AEW All Out, the 50-year-old Jericho faced Maxwell Jacob Friedman for the fourth time in an AEW ring. MJF had beaten Jericho three times in the past, including last month on AEW Dynamite. This match was billed as “The Final Fight” as a way to put an end to the storied rival.

Jericho and MJF were not always at odds because there was a time when MJF and his buddy Wardlow were in Jericho’s Inner Circle group. However, that fell apart and MJF ended up forming his own group called The Pinnacle. That led to first-ever Blood & Guts match between MJF’s Pinnacle group and Jericho’s Inner Circle with MJF beating Jericho to win, which led to MJF throwing off a cage as well.

Since MJF was tired of dealing with Jericho, they came to an agreement known as the “Five Labours of Jericho.” It led to Jericho winning singles matches against Shawn Spears, Nick Gage in a Deathmatch, Juventud Guerrera and Wardlow.

At All Out, MJF nearly got another win over Jericho when he hit the Judas Effect (Jericho’s finisher) and referee Aubrey Edwards counted to three, but Jericho’s foot was on the bottom rope. That led to senior official Paul Turner telling Aubrey what happened, so the match was restarted. Jericho ended up winning the match with the Walls of Jericho submission, which is a move that hurts the lower back especially. That’s what MJF was selling the whole match, so it played into the finish well.

Jericho went on Instagram to reflect on the rivalry with MJF while noting it was the longest and “one of the best” feuds he has ever been a part of.

Based on Jericho’s IG post, it seems like both guys will be moving on to new storylines. MJF is 0-3 in pay-per-view matches this year while Jericho’s in-ring career will continue. AEW Dynamite emanates from Cincinnati this Wednesday night.
