World Wrestling Entertainment announced this morning that Seth Rollins re-injured his right knee during the final segment of this week’s Monday Night Raw, when Samoa Joe attacked him.
The injury is reportedly legitimate as Rollins is currently in Birmingham, Alabama being examined. This is according to PWInsider. The severity of Rollins’ injury and how long he will be out of action for has not yet been announced.
In reference to the “re-injured” comment, Rollins injured his right knee in November 2015. It was during a match against Kane at a WWE Live Event. The injury was a torn ACL that required surgery and forced him to miss WrestleMania 32. He missed over six months of action.
Here’s the video from Raw. Watch when Joe applied the Coquina Clutch. You can hear Rollins say “Owww” as his right knee jammed, so that’s likely when it happened.
Rollins tweeted the following this morning.
